    The author wrote a column in El Periódico de Catalunya for ten years. He won the Plaza Mayor Prize for poetry. He has worked as Creative Director at various advertising agencies. He is a documentary writer , and works in radio and television. He was a prize winner at the Cannes Festival for publicity films on two occasions. His published books are written mostly in a journalistic style.

    We cannot ignore the team of people who have worked on this project, without whom the resulting book would not be as great as it is. Particularly notable among the 26 might be Fernando Vicente, Juan Madrid, Fernando Savater, José Luis Garcí, Arturo Pérez Reverte or Manuel Hidalgo. Each and every one of them has contributed their best efforts in order to produce a book as colossal as the book's protagonist.

    Augusto Roa Bastos (Iturbe, 1917 – Asunción, 2005) is the most important Paraguayan writer, and has been translated into 25 languages. At the age of 15, he ran away from school with some classmates to live the adventure of war. The horrors that he witnessed in those days converted him into a great defender of peace.

  • Baltasar Magro

    Baltasar Magro studied Humanities, and, later, journalism at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He has worked as a scriptwriter on cultural, documentary and entertainment shows and as a director of public information broadcasts for various television companies for more than thirty years. He began his career in literature in 2000 with the novel 'El círculo de Juanelo' ('Juanelo's Circle'), which went through various editions and was very well received by the critics.
