    JOAN BESTARD COMAS (born 1940) is a priest, and was an Episcopal Priest in the Diocese of Mallorca from 1974 to 1980, an executive in the Secretariado Nacional de la Comisión Episcopal de Pastoral from 1980-1986, a general priest  from 1986 to 1999, and a Catedral Dean from 1998 to 2004. He has qualifications in Theology and a doctorate in Social Sciences from the Gregorian University of Rome, as well as qualifications in PoOlitical Science and Sociology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
