Mario Cuenca Sandoval was born in Sabadell in 1975, although he now lives in Cordoba, where he works as a teacher of philosophy. He is the author of the novel Boxeo sobre hielo (Boxing on Ice, Berenice, 2007, Premio Andalucía Joven de Narrativa), acclaimed as one of the novels most representative of the new generation of Spanish novelists.
Mario Lacruz Muntadas was born in Barcelona in 1929, and died in the same city in 2000. During his lifetime he published the three novels which are now presented as The Trilogy of Guilt. He worked intensively as an editor for Plaza & Janés, Argos-Vergara and Seix Barral, making him one of the most respected and renowned editors in the Spanish speaking world. At the same time, he continued to write, as evidenced by the numerous unpublished manuscripts found in his cupboard.
The authors of this book are memberss of the Departmment of Prehistory and Archaeology at UNED. They are experienced in in their respective theoretical and practical fields, in addition to the presentation of their research findings in numerous books, articles in scientific journals, and attendance of national and international conferences.
Mario Muchnik (Buenos Aires, 1931) graduated in Physics from Columbia University in New York in 1953, and doctored in Physics from the Universitá degli Studi in Rome in 1957. In 1966 he abandoned physics in order to enter the publishing world. In 1968 he began working for Robert Laffont in Paris, and in 1973 he founded Muchnik Editores in Barcelona with his father Jacobo Muchnik, a company known today as El Aleph. Mario Muchnik is an experienced editor of notable prestige who has always placed a higher value on culture than on economic factors in any publishing venture.
