Mediocristán es un país tranquilo

After several years' absence, the protagonist of this novel decides to abandon his peaceful life in Barcelona and return to the city of his birth. It's a return to the ghosts of his past - his paunchy ex-schoolmates and his parents' expectations - which threatens to jeopardise the peace of Mediocristan, the moral territory in which he has been living comfortably. This novel, made up of lines which are as short, ironic, precise and damning as aphorisms, is an amusing and devastating satire on the existential philosophy of a generation and even of contemporary society's promise for the future.
