The book opens with a horrific scene: a bomb blast in Madrid. The characters appear gradually, in real time, during the hours following the explosion. The repercussions of the bomb mingle with personal stories at a frantic pace. A woman wounded in the attack is physically identical to Ana, head of the Police Forensic Unit in Madrid. In another area of the city, a librarian called María is deeply upset by the events. At the end of the day, Alejandra is driving home when she is blinded by the headlights of another car and crashes into a streetlight. The novel is a homage to friendship, the joy of being alive, the good deeds of ordinary people who care about others. It is an alchemist's laboratory that makes it possible to believe we can change, as do the characters confronting their various realities and finding meaning in their lives.
