Nunca ayudes a una extraña

Javier Goitia is an investigative journalist with a long career behind him who ends up being fired. To get over this blow, he goes to G...., where he has a friend who takes him in for a while, and where he hopes to rethink his future. In the train buffet, Javier is fascinated by a beautiful, pensive woman he does not dare approach, but who makes an indelible impression on him. One night, when Javier is having a few drinks, and is smoking at the door of the bar, he hears moaning coming from an alley. When he approaches, he sees a man running out of the alley, leaving a woman lying on the ground, apparently having been assaulted. Javier runs after the man and when a fight takes place, the police arrive and arrest them both. In the meanwhile, the woman has disappeared. In court, doubt is cast on Javier's testimony by the declarations of his opponent.
