You're always rushing around, dragging yourself from place to place, and you can't hide the fact you feel everything's your fault. You've already worked out that the so-called work-life balance is a myth. You try to be the best mother you can, but there's always someone around to tell you you should be doing things differently. Your days are so stressful that you hardly have a minute to yourself—and maybe it's better that way: if you did stop for breath, you'd probably find yourself overwhelmed by the desire to escape. The so-called liberation of women, the femenine revolution, is in fact the rip-off of the century. The kids have robbed you of your independence and made you a pass-master in nothing other than picking up dirty clothes, but setting the table for six (when before it was just you and him) at least helps you makes sense of your past—and of the shopping bill!
