For Massoud, a young Palestinian living in one of the most dangerous parts of the Gazza strip, life has never had so much colour as when he meets Yael, the daughter of a high ranking officer in the Israeli military. The cruelty of this deeply rooted conflict leads to Massoud having to watch the murder of his brother and mother at a checkpoint, which feeds his hatred. But, how can he maintain his thirst for vengeance when confronted with her smile and eyes like hers? With his only friend, his constant companion, Boing, a three legged dog of unbreakable faith, Massoud tries to survive in a world that is too complicated for a child to understand. While she leaves the country to continue her studies, he stays behind in a place that is ever more turbulent and dangerous. However, the paths of these two youngsters will cross again as the years go by.
