The inspiring story of a talented woman who hopes to make her mark in the world of men in the golden period of Disney Studios. At only sixteen, Sophie Simmons leaves her family to travel to Los Angeles during the great depression to follow her dream of working as an illustrator for Disney Studios. But she soon discovers that it is not a world for women. And amongst loves and indifference, Sophie weaves together the blows life throws at her and battles to the end in a world in turmoil that will mark a before and an after in the illustration profession at the start of the twentieth century.
