This novella is built around a spiral with three different registers. It starts with a realist discourse, the blunt realism of mistreated women. It continues in a tone that is closer to noir, deliberately dark with flashes of humour. Then, towards the end, the style is more lyrical, while not abandoning the realism or dark tones - but those lyrical flashes, possibly suggesting the protagonist's madness, are fundamental. At the same time the work never ceases to be a realist work, denouncing abuse and male violence. As the author notes, "Today's recipe is a healthy and salutary way to change the habits learned in this society."
