In present day Barcelona, the young computer technician Beltrán, who once dreamt of changing the world, has ended up selling his soul to the establishment, working for a big multinational com¬pa-ny. He can’t believe in anything anymore, and even less since one year ago his beloved wife got killed in an absurd traffic accident.
His scepticism begins to teeter, however, when he believes to see his wife appear to him in the middle of the street and in full daylight. And it feels like she wants to tell him some¬thing. Does it have anything to do with the investigation she was leading when she got killed? And is it related to the events a policeman fallen from favour is desperately trying to ex¬plain? Or is it related to an old legacy by an Egiptian God, which has been longed for from time immemorial?
Carlos Sanmiguel interweaves mythical old Egypt and the soul’s resurrection with present day events in this fascinating thriller. The protagonists must find old myths surviving nowadays in em¬ble¬ma-tic symbols in order to save not only their lives, but their souls…
This is not only a breathtaking thriller – it’s also a beautiful love story.
