In the midst of the euphoria at the arrival of the new millennium, a Caribbean musicologist receives an invitation from a well-known fashion designer to collaborate on a strange exhibition. They are united by their great interest in the shapes of the animal world. Seven years later, when the exhibition has failed to take place, he is given the archive of their collaboration following the designer's death. During a long night of insomnia and reading, he realises that their dizzying project held the key to unravel the designer's mysterious family history: a fast-paced global puzzle that will result in the clarification of an epic political journey through the Latin American jungle.
