Liberated from the Dachau concentration camp in April 1945, Andreu Ribera's sole objective is to get to Paris to find news of Rosa. There, in the Hotel Lutecia, he waits for news with countless other relations of the dead, disappeared and survivors. When everything seems hopeless, he finds help in Blanche, a widow whose son died in the war and who runs a bistro near to the Hotel Lutecia. Blanche supports him as though he were her own son. Gradually he rebuilds his life and then takes the second chance that Blanche offers him in Provence, with her sister Claudine. Years later, in July 1969, André, the son of Andreu Ribera, is looking for answers and goes in search of them. The family secrets kept by his father, and his pursuit of the truth will lead him to postwar Barcelona.
