In the year 2056 social amenities collapse and the countries of the world withdraw from large parts of the earth. The population flees hunger and epidemics. In a city somewhere, a group of families closes the well by which they live and join the river of the displaced. Thirty years later, the same area is nothing more than ruins, where small pockets of people survive. A boy, Enis, lives there, the last survivor of a group. Andera, the girl with transparent eyes, will live thee. Together they will abandon the city and set off through a world of loneliness and endless deserts. Always heading north, always in search of precious water. Until they come across an unusual city. Visionary and disturbing with a frenetic pace, this is a perfect dystopian novel, falling somewhere between Cormac McCarthy and William Golding.
