El infierno de Marta

When she agreed to go out with that boy, Marta didn’t know what she was letting herself in for, nor that from then on it would be as painful to try to penetrate that hell as to escape from it. Pasqual Alapont’s novel, written in the form of a thriller, with psychopath included, is hair-raising. It is the story of Marta, a girl who falls in love with the wrong person: but it is also the tale of captivating tenderness of an unbreakable friendship. The book finishes with La máscara del amor (The Mask of Love), in which the psychologist and criminalist, Vicente Garrido, analyses the risk behaviours that every young person should be aware of in order to avoid falling into the hell of physical and psychological abuse. A useful book, combining a moving novel, full of suspense and a practical self-help text.
