The fictitious Torres y González (that is, the authors Lucas Torres y Jesús González) have updated the adventures of the guileful Justina, continuing her adventures where the unknown 16th century author who wrote under the name of Francisco de Úbeda left off. This work revives the grace and critique of the most genuine of picaresque literature, but updating it for the present day reader, and so the adventures of Justina continue in the setting of the Golden Age: inns, fairs, roads, telling of her scams and husbands with the grace and social critique that typifies the most genuine picaresque tradition where there are no lack of winks to the 21st century reader.
