In 1967 an attractive anthropology student named Izumi Fukada contracts a strange disease on the island of Papua New Guinea while taking part in the Japanese exhibition that is looking for the lost Hamulai tribe. This trivial episode is the first link in an unforeseeable chain of events that begins in Japan, jumps to the United States and ends up shedding light, seventy five years later, on a dystopian nightmare on a planetary scale.
