“The Great Composers and Children” is a series of books with CDs designed and produced by Montserrat Roig with the participation of different specialized authors. All the books include: a story, a biographical note, a CD with the music each composer wrote to be interpreted by children, and the recording of the dramatized story.
Each book with CD refers to a representative composer in the history of classical music, showing the reader another side of them, as educators and pedagogues.
Published books with CD:
1. Schumann and Children
2. Little Mozart
3. J.S.Bach and Children
4. Tchaikovsky and Children
5. Granados and Children
The tales combine fiction and reality and refer to the moment in which the composers wrote the albums with pieces to be interpreted by children. In general, these musical pieces were composed for some child very close to the composer, so the story of how they were written, as well as the music itself, respond to a very special moment full of tenderness. The series “The Great Composers and Children” wants to show that magic moment and make these musical pieces accessible to the younger ones in a fun and entertaining way.
The pieces in the musical selection are little works full of charm. Generally composed for the piano, they have the simplicity of children and the grandeur of the musicians who wrote them. All the music belongs to benchmark albums in the musical education process.
