Written in an appealing style and with a social and moral backdrop, this novel is full of intrigue and action with a psychological depth, as well as excellent descriptions and dialogue. The author has succeeded in performing a balancing act between literary quality and entertainment, with a flowing, lyrical prose that makes for easy reading. Angel Leonov, an ex-KGB mercenary is full of hatred towards the Soviet leaders who left him without a mother and father. Those he is attempting to take revenge upon are now Russian mafia bosses. Micoyan, son of the head of the mafia, is trying to traffic in biological weapons and has joined forces with a firm of international lawyers. One of the firm's partners, Lilith Bansea, is the Grand Mistress of a Satanic sect, and sees in these weapons the chance to commit a terrorist act in the name of her society. Together with the police, Ángel Leonov will have to thwart the criminals' plans.
