The past few years have seen many remarkable advances against cancer. The accomplishments of the last decade, such as: the development of targeted therapies, the identification of cancer genes, the introduction of computer techniques, and the decline in cancer deaths, have all depended on the knowledge gained in the past. This book was designed to introduce a series of chapters related to CANCER, offering the latest advances in the understanding of the molecular and cellular basis of this complex and multifactor disease. The findings recently obtained, thanks to the new technologies of molecular biology and genetic engineering, as well as in image techniques such as flow cytometry and confocal microscopy, have permitted us to produce a great deal of experimental research. . Cancer is not only a cell growth problem, but also a problem related to cell death and differentiation.
