José Luis Sicre Díaz’s Introducción al Antiguo Testamento hopes to be, in the author’s words, ‘practical and amenable’, although the readability might be difficult to achieve given the vast and complex texts of the Old Testament.
However, the author appears to have achieved his aim, to judge by the excellent response to the first edition in 1991.
This new, corrected and up-dated edition with new information continues uniting readability and educational qualities with scientific study and pursuing the same ends as the original version: arousing interest in, easing reading of, and making the most of the Old Testament.
