Waluk

A polar bear cub, abandoned by its mother, latches onto an old, grumpy bear who tries to teach it to cope with life's ups and downs. Admiration and fear. Beauty, liveliness, and an at times human aspect. Polar bears are irresistible, they exert an unstoppable pull on people, including the authors of this book, Ana Miralles and Emilio Ruiz, who in 'Waluk' have created a delicate and exciting story.
This is also a contribution by Miralles and Ruiz towards the fight for polar bear survival -- an animal capable of communication and emotion, much like humans. 'Waluk' reinforces the gravity of the species' situation, as much as that of the environment in general and man's impact on the fate of polar bears.
