Since ancient times birds have fascinated men and caught their imagination. Their singular characteristics have allowed them to represent such diverse concepts as liberty, innocence or peace. One of these peculiarities is that, instead of vocal chords, they have a vocal organ called a syringe. This enables a whole range of birds to sing.
