Scotland, 1826, the Isle of Rum is being cleared to make way for cattle breeding. However, a man learned in the mysteries of science arrives to occupy the only house on the island, a mansion with round walls, accompanied by his adolescent daughter and small son, who suffers from a terrible illness.
But the presence of the strangers seems to have awakened something on the island, something old and evil which, until then, lived only in local legends. The elder daughter, Sabine, has to leave her adolescent dreams behind to face a world full of shadows and dangers if she wants to save her own life and that of her brother…
