Rafael Aguirre Monasterio

Rafael Aguirre Monasterio is Emeritus Professor of Theology at Deusto University. He has been a pioneer in the application of social science to biblical studies in the Spanish speaking world. His published works include 'La mesa compartida: estudios del Nuevo Testamento desde las ciencias sociales' (1994); 'Ensayo sobre los orígenes del cristianismo' (2001); 'Qué se sabe de..Jesús de Nazaret' (2009, in collaboration with Carmen Bernabé & Carlos Gil). He has been director of the Spanish Biblical Society and he is a member of the Studiorum Novi Testamento Societas and the Society of Biblical Literature.
