Mariela González

The author was born on 11th December, 1982, in Seville, where she now lives. She has a degree in journalism from the city's university (2004) and has worked in the head offices of various local and regional newspapers, as well as in online media and as a blogger. In 2010 she gained a DEA (Diploma of Advanced Studies) in the Literature and Communication doctorate programme, with a thesis on the Cadiz writer Rafael Marín.
She won second place in Almería's Dark Glass Story Competition, organised by the Ludere Aude association, in 2000;  first place in the Spanish Tolkein Society's Gandalf Prize, in 2001; second place in the Badajoz Neuromancers' Association's Story Competition in 2003: and first place in the fantasy story competition held by the Cota de Malla association in Madrid in 2009.
