Lluís Ferrés Gurt
Lluís Ferrés Gurt (Olot, 1954) is a biologist and sailor. He has been travelling extensively around the Mediterranean for over 30 years, as a forestry ecologist (UAB, 1977-1986), as a member of the writing and directing team on documentary series ("Mediteranean and Nature" for TV3, 1986-1991) and as a professional skipper (since 1992). He has also toured it on a cruise ship, as an amateur submarine navegator, as a tourist and as an avid reader of the many books on the subject. He was a finalist for the Premio Nostromo for maritime literature in 2007 with his novel "Cíclades" ("Cyclades") and won the prize in 2009 for "Mar vieja" ("Old Sea").
