Stories of a God in Decline
José Mateos was born in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) in 1963. He became recognised as a poet with the book 'Una extraña ciudad', to which he has since added titles such as 'Días en claro', 'Canciones' and 'La niebla', these three all published by Pre-Textos. In 2006 he collected together all of his published poetry to date, including some poems dispersed in magazines and rare editions, in a volume entitled 'Reunión'. He is also the author of some books which are unusual and difficult to classify, which weave together life, thought and feeling, philosophy and poetry, such as 'Soliloquios y divinanzas' and La Razón y otras dudas', both published by this publisher.
