Xulio Ricardo Trigo
Xulio Ricardo Trigo (betanzos, 1959) is a novelist and translator from Portuguese. His publications include the novels "La desaparició d'Evelyn" (1995), "La mort salobre" (Premio Ciudad de Elche, 1998) and "Fabo" (Premio Joanot Martorell, 1999).
His poetry has received such prizes as: Ausiàs march, Miquel de Palol, Maria Mercè Marçal and Vicent Andrès Estellés. As a translator, he has done versions of X. M. Àlvarez Cáccamo (Fou Blanc, 1994; Premio Cavall Verd for poetry translation), Ana Hatherly, Mario Cesariny, Yolanda Castaño, José Cardoso Pires, Francesc Pacerisas and Eugenio de Andrade. His ideas on literature can be found in "L'extensió del temps" (1997). He has contributed to such media organs as Avui, El Temps, Cuadernos Hispanoamericanas, La Vanguardia and El Periódico de Cataluña. In 1992, he was awarded the premio Atlántida for journalism.
