Education strategies for young people and teenagers at-risk. The transition to adult life in a sustainable society
Miguel Melendro Estefanía holds a PhD in Education, is a teacher at the Faculty of Education at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia National and Director of the Institute for Ecosocial Research and Training. He accumulates significant experience in educational work with adolescents and young people in social difficulty. Along his career as a teacher, researcher, pedagogue and social educator, theoretical reflection has always been linked to educational practice. He has given numerous seminars, courses and lectures, both nationally and internationally. He has directed and participated in various research projects on social and ecosocial education, funded by public and private entities. He has worked as a pedagogue and social educator in various agencies and public training centres. He has published extensively on social education and environmental education. His research priorities focus on the social-educational intervention with adolescents and young people in social difficulty, ecosocial education and environmental sustainability as well as complex thinking and systems theory applied to education.
