David Rubín

David Rubín (Ourense, 1977) studied graphic design and threw himself into the world of comics, animation and illustration. His first full length work, 'El circo del desaliento'(Astiberri, 2005), also published in France, Italy and the Czech Republic, gained him a nomination for best new author at the International Comic Fair in Barcelona, 2006, won the Primer Premio Castelao, and was published in Galician, Castilian Spanish, Italian and French.
His second graphic novel, 'La tetería del oso malayo (Astiberri, 2006), also published in France, Italy and the Czech Republic, won four nominations at the International Comic Fair in Barcelona, 2007, winning the best new author prize and making him a finalist at the 1st National Comic Awards. Subsequently, 'Cuaderno de tormentas' (Planeta DeAgostini, 2008), was nominated for best illustrations at the Barcelona event.
