SYNOPSIS

An elderly man hangs himself in his cell on the same day he is imprisoned in 1986 for an attempt to blow up Palma train station. Shortly after he is detained, he confesses and hands an autobiographical manuscript to his priest, asking him to publish it. The story contains the confession of his failed atack and of an earlier case of sabotage in which no one suspected him. An ex-station master on the disused railway line that ran between the Majorcan capital and the village of Felanitx, he claims his 'avenging actions' go beyond his particular case. According to him, deferring the construction of a railway on the island is a clear sign of the uncontrolled tourism that is encroaching on the foundations of society.
