Fermín Bocos (Santander) studied Medicine and is a graduate in Journalism from the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona. As a journalist, he worked as director of the information services at Radio Barcelona and COPE. At Cadena SER he fronted the programmes Hora 25 and El Informativo de las 8. He was the
director of Telediario on TVE and the manager of Radio Exterior de España. He was also the first director of the Information Services of the channel Telemadrid.
He has also been a newsreader on channel Tele 5; on the programme España a fondo, on CNN+; and on 24 Horas, on RNE. He’s been a columnist for Diario 16, El Mundo and AVUI.
He is the author of the novels El libro de Michael; El resplandor de la gloria and La venganza de Byron, and of the essays Tecnología bélica y censura en la Guerra del Golfo and Ellas. He is currently an associate lecturer at the Universidad Carlos III, Madrid, and a political analyst for the agency Europa Press. He is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Among other awards he has received the «Ondas» (for Informativo de las 8, Cadena Ser), the Ciudad de Barcelona, that of the International Press Club, the «Víctor de la Serna» award, the Asociación de la Prensa de Cantabria Prize and the «Micrófono de Oro» (2006), awarded by the Federación de Radio Televisión de España.
He appears with Luis de Olmo on the show Protagonistas and collaborates with Curri Valenzuela on Telemadrid.
He is married to the best-selling novelist Julia Navarro, internationally well-known for her books La sangre de los inocentes and La biblia de barro.
