Ledicia Costas

Ledicia Costas was born in Vigo in 1979. She is one of the most well-known authors writing for children and young adults today. She has been awarded all manner of prizes, such as the Merlín Prize for Children's Literature, the Fervenzas Literary Prize, the Galician Publisher's Xosé Neira Vila Prize, and she was included on the biennial IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) role of honour for 2015-2016, and in October 2015 she received the National Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature. Shortly afterwards these were followed by the Lazarillo Prize for Literary Creativity in 2015 and 2017. She is part of the board of directors for Gálix (the Galician Association for Children's and Young Adult Books) and is part of the da Hostia Poet's collective.
