Rapa Nui: The Lost World of Eastern Polynesia
Francesc Amorós graduated in History and Philology from the Universidad de Barcelona and works in the Centro de Estudion Históricos in the same. He is a member of the Asociación Española de Estudios del Pacífico and, since may 2010, has been a member of the Royal Geographic Society (London) and the Institute of British Geographers. He has been awarded the Nicolau d'Olwer prize by the Institut d'Estudis Catalans and was shortlisted for the Josep Pla prize for a work on Easter Island, in which he related his participation, with Antoni Pujador, in the archaeological expedition led by Thor Heyerdahl in 1987. This book is the fruit of that expedition. He has been a close collaborator on a number of Pujador's projects, including 'Mapa de Rapa-Nui (1985). He has published various works and articles and has spoken at international congresses on the Pacific and Easter Island.
