Òscar Sardà

I began my career as a cartoonist for adults in the seventies. In the eighties and nineties I also worked as an advertising illustrator. But it was in 2005 that I began my most personal project: the adventures of Oriol the Pixie, a series that narrates the adventures of a brave and ecologically-minded pixie. The series was published in Catalan by Editorial Barcanova. The collection has grown and I have just finished the twenty-first book. Círculo de Lectores has published the series in Castilian as part of the 'Lee con el duende Max' collection. In 20018 there was an exhibition to mark twenty instalments in the series, which, along with a travelling character, visited libraries and bookshops across Catalonia. I also provide the illustrations for Barcanova's series about the amusing explorer Roc Tempesta, illustrating books about him along with summer holiday activity books and two atlases.
