Belén Martínez was born on 22nd February 1990 in Cádiz, on the same day as this city celebrates the start of Carnival and perhaps this is why she has always been attracted to music, words and magic. She began to write when she was a child and hasn't stopped since. She studied nursing and today combines a career as a ward matron with her writing and editing. This is her third novel published after "Lilim" [The Lilim] and "Hasta la última Estrella" [Until the Last Star]. Previously, she also published "Una sonata de Verano" [A Sonata for Summer](1st Puck Prize for Young Adult Fiction).
