Over tens of thousands of years human beings have lived by using the energy of the sun, the tides, the wind and wood to cover their needs. However, after the Industrial Revolution, they started to use a massive amount of coal, oil and natural gas. Thanks to this, they were able to put in place an economic power capable of producing huge quantities of manufactured goods that can be bought, sold and transported across the planet. However, this growth has resulted in global warming and with it, climate change, an ecological problem that risks destroying our life as we know it. The book tells us all about this problem, asking: do we really understand climate change?; why is it happening?; do we know how it will affect the forests, water supply, other animals?; how will it affect people? and most important of all, do we know what to do about it?
