José Ángel Mañas

José Ángel Mañas' first novel, Stories from the Kronen, was a finalist for the 1994 Nadal Award and inspired one of the best-selling Spanish films of the nineties, which showed at Cannes and won a Goya for best adapted script. It was chosen by El Mundo as one of the 100 best Spanish novels of all time. Stories from the Kronen has forged its own place as a genuine contemporary classic, and Mañas has since written nine more novels including the rest of the Kronen tetralogy: Mensaka, (1995) for which the film adaptation won another Goya for best script adaptation, Fractured City (1998) and La Pella (2010 and re-published as an e-book by ALT autores in 2018). I am a Frustrated Writer (2005) was adapted in France under the title Imposture.
