Germà Bel, Master of Economics from the University of Chicargo, completed her undergraduate studies in the University of Barcelona, where he now holds the chair of Applied Economics. He is also a guest professor at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. As a member of the Spanish Congress from 2000 to 2004, he was Economics and Treasury spokesman for the Grupo Socialista from 2001 to the end of its term of office. Between 2004 and 2008, he was visiting profesor at Cornell University and researcher, first at Harvard, and then at the European University Institute, Florence. Since then he has focused his research on the economics and politics of infrastructure and transport, plus public sector reform, topics on which he has also written as a columnist. He is the author of numerous books, research works and general interest essays.
