Darwinism in 19th-Century School Textbooks in Spain and England
Margarita Hertnández Laille was born in Madrid and has a PhD in Natural History from UNED, which offered her a scholarship to undertake research on the teaching of Darwinism in Spain and England for her thesis. She has been involved in a number of research projects and participated in summer courses at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo. She is a member of the Spanish Society of the History of Education (SEDHE), the Spanish Society for the Study of the Historico-Educative Heritage (SEPHE), and has colloborated with the International Centre for School Culture (CEINCE) in the area of manualistics. She has worked with the Centro de Investigación MANES since 2002 and in 2008 was named Fellow of the Linnean Society, London. Since 2010, she has been the Spanish representative at the Society for the History of Naturtal History
