Antonio Ungar

Antonio Ungar (Bogota, 1974) writes short stories, literary articles and novels. His stories have appeared in over twenty-five anthologies in five languages and have recently been published as a collection in Trece circos y otros cuentos comunes (Thirteen Circuses and Other Common Stories, 2009). His articles regularly appear in magazines and newspapers in United States, Holland and Colombia, where he was awarded the 2005 Premio Nacional de Periodismo Simón Bolívar. He is the author oof two novels, Zaanahorias voladores (Flying Carrots) and Las orejas deel lobo (The Wolf's Ears), which was shortlisted for the Courier International Prize for the best foreign-languae book published in France in 2008. He was chosen as the Latin American author for the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop and was among the Bogota 39. He currently lives in Jaffa, and is working on a new novel.
