Elvira LIndo studied journalism and was a presenter on Radio Nacional España. She has been a scriptwriter for Cadena SER and various television programmes. It was in these scripts that the characer of Manolito Gafotas first appeared, who since the first book of the series was published in 1994 has enjoyed huge success. Elvira has also published five children's books with the characters 'Olivia y Amigos del alma' (2000), and the novles for adults 'El otro barrio' (1998) and 'Algo más inesperado que la muerte' (2003), a play, 'La ley de la selva', (1996), and the reports 'El País en Tinto de verano' (2001), 'El mundo es un pañuelo' (2001) and 'Otro verano contigo' (2002).
In 2005 she received the Premio Biblioteca Breve for her novel 'Una palabra tuya' and has just published 'Lo que me queda por vivir'.
