Julio Zarco

Julio Zarco Rodríguez, born in Madrid, graduated as a medical doctor from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and is a specialist in general practice. He is Director of the Faculty of Primary Health Care at the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares and President of the Spanish Society of Primary Care Doctors. His humanistic interests and studies in the department of History of Medicine have moved his focus towards the field of anthroplogy, the relationship between literature and medicine and, most importantly, studies on archetypal psychology and myth. He has published over 150 articles on clinical medicine and the history of medicine. Among his most important works are: Guía práctica de la relación dinámica (2003), La obra de G. A. Becquer desde la perspectiva de la psicología arquetipal (2005) and La sombra del dolor (2006).
