Carlos Bassas del Rey

Carlos Bassas del Rey (Barcelona, 1974) has a degree in journalism and a PhD in communication studies. He currently works as a freelance scriptwriter, a job he combines with teaching, writing novels and coordinating Pamplona's Semana Negra crime fiction event. In the course of his career as a writer he has written short films, documentaries, feature films, video clips and adverts and has organised, coordinated and delivered various creative writing courses, exhibitions, film series and summer schools relating to all things audiovisual. In 2007 he was awarded the Premio Plácido for best feature length crime film at the 15th Festival Internacional de Cine Negro de Manresa, and in 2009 he was coordinating editor of the book 'Tasio 25' to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the film directed by Montxo Armendáriz.
