Happiness
Carmen Quintana Cocolina was born in Santander in 1986. She studied Journalism at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and has a master's degree in Journalism and Globalization from the University of Aarhus, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Santiago de Chile and the University of Amsterdam. Her first novel, 'Felicidad' (Happiness), was published by El Desvelo in November 2017. She was a runner up for the 2016 Premio José Hierro Prize for short stories, given by the City of Santander for her story 'Lugares' ('Places'). She has been a finalist in several poetry competitions with her poems: 'A una Vid Riojana' published in '150 poemas homenaje a Antonio Machado' (a tribute to poet Antonio Machado) (ArtGerust, 2014), 'Poema 21' in '150 poemas homenaje a Pablo Neruda' (a tribute to Pablo Neruda) (ArtGerust, 2014), and 'Amor' in 'Homenaje a Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer' (a tribute to poet Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer) (ArtGerust, 2015) and 'Quiéreme Bien si a Quererme Vienes'' in 'En Tiempos Pasados' ('In Past Times' (ArtGerust, 2016). She lives in Reykjavik.
