Juan Domínguez Bendala

A graduate in Biology from the Universidad de Sevilla, Juan Domínguez Bendala was awarded a PhD by the prestigious Roslin Institute in Scotland under the supervision of one of the creators of Dolly the sheep, the first cloned animal in history. He has lived in Miami since 2001, where he heads the Stem Cell Laboratory of the Diabetes Research Institute, an important centre for the development of stem cell treatment in diabetes. He combines his research with popular science writing, which has led him to be interviewed on many occasions on CNN, NBC and other national and international media. Sine 2008 he has been included in Marquis Who's Who in America and in 2010 he was selected by the Sabrina Cohen Foundation for the international "Celebrity Doctors" campaign to benefit regenerative therapies.
