He has a reputation for being unlucky and prone to disappearing, is in debt and agrees to help Nikki when she asks him. Her proposal: that he helps her bring a greyhound named Cromwell to the attention of an Italian woman who manages the races. During the endless small hours of the morning, the couple will navigate a ghostly Madrid in search of this greyhound and will encounter all kinds of strange individuals.
