ÁNGEL COLLADO MATEO

Ángel Collado Mateo is a writer and Spanish teacher. He was born on April 24, 1964, in Navezuelas, Cácares (Spain), but has lived most of his life in Alcalá de Henares and in Casablanca (Marrakesh). In 2003 he published his first book El señor de las aguas (The Lord of the Waters) and in 2004 was awarded the City of Peñiscola prize for Camino de Logrosán (The Logrosán Road). In that year his Un hombre sencillo (A Simple Man) also won the Ciudad del Aire prize. In 2005 he received the Relatos de Café award, hosted by El Diario de Alcalá, for La venganza (Revenge). In 2007 he gained the Villa de Alfambra prize for La sombra de Zhang Ziyi (The Shadow of Zhang Ziyi) and the Ciudad del Aire prize for Sonia en la telaraña (Sonia in the Spider's Web). His next work was a collection of short stories called Agujeros (Holes). In 2016 he published Azares y Caprichos (Risks and Whims) and La última vez (The Last time). Ángel Collado has also written prologues for plays.
