Rosa Montero

Rosa Montero (Madrid, Spain, 1951) studied Journalism and Pscyhology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid during which time she participated in groups of independent theatre. She began her journalistic career working in various media (Arriba, Hermano Lobo, Posible and Fotogramas, among others) and since 1977 has written exclusively for El País, where she edited the Sunday supplement for two years. She is the author of a number of fictional works which have won numerous prizes and been translated into some twenty languages. In 2017 she was awarded the Premio Nacional de las Letras by Spain's Ministry of Culture.
